Taco Bike & the Ice Cream Stand

Cioa,

My friend Brion Nuda Rosch and I are doing food carts this summer. I would invite you to respond on what you think about mobile food? Can we argue both sides? I like the idea of good food being served free of walls. Just ss long as the cart is sanitary, So what do you think?

Will be at Southern Exposure from September 18th through October 11th…

THE PORTABLE ICE CREAM STAND

“Part art-object, part functioning ice cream stand, The Portable Ice Cream Stand is a nomadic food stand and social gathering assembled by visiting artists serving sweet refreshments at local functions, playgrounds, campsites, laundry mats, and book stores.”

This is my new proposed Taco Bike. I am planning to ride from 18th and Mission to 18th and Castro. Saturday and Sunday for now. Wave if you see me, and pick up a freshly made fish or homemade seasoned seitan taco. Should be great.

Thanks for checking out the Fish, your support and generosity is moving and inspiring. Ciao

I think bringing anything out to “the community” is important, especially items found in places that may be intimidating to some (ie; restaurants and galleries). Another important note: how do we define “community”? It’s a word that is thrown around very often.

I am excited to see what happens when the walls are removed…

Another note (though not as important)
The Portable Ice Cream Stand is moving in a nomadic sense, however does not function as a traditional Ice Cream Cart. The Portable Ice Cream Stand is a function, happenning, and social gathering.

We hope to offer an exchange at a local park before our residence at Southern Exposure. For this exchange, we would like participants to hand paint a sign with the flavor of their hearts desire in exchange for a scoop of ice cream. The hand painted signs will be displayed in the windows of Southern Exposure during the residency.

Information for this event will soon be posted on the gallery website http://www.hallwaybathroomgallery.com

    hi timo,

i love your bikecart! where did you get it? did you make it yourself? i have been trying to find one for ages, but it’s hard when i don’t even know what to call it. i’m really into the idea of street food and selling snacks off carts. i randomly googled bike food carts, found your website, and funny enough, live 3 blocks from weird fish. love the food there. i’d love to hear from you if you have any advice on how to get a foodbikecart of my own…

    thanks!
