THIS IS COPIED FROM BEV MO WEBSITE SOME GUY NAMED WILFRED WROTE IT
Since I live in one of the best places for seafood - San Francisco - I often find the need to chow down on fish n' chips. While one of my favorite places is Piccadilly's, I just found a new love - Weird Fish. The place tabs itself as local and sustainable and won't even let you take out food unless you bring in your own reusable containers (now isn't that just like my city by the bay?).

I met my friend wine broker Paul Manchester and his Argentine producer pal, Eric Anesie for some Malbecs and Torrontés. The wines were quite good but I told Eric that the category was extremely competitive. I asked Timothy Holt, owner of the restaurant, what was great to try and he immediately steered us to his fish & chips. We did not hesitate and ordered a 3 piecer (just a light snack) as dinner was waiting for me at home. The Torrontés went perfectly with the lightly battered fish (they use locally brewed Anchor Steam Bee as the base). This day would prove to be successful because I found a cool restaurant that I could disappear into and a wine to match with one of my favorite comfort foods. Why don't you snag the 2008 Zolo Gaucho Torrontés from our selection and give this combo a try? You may even be able to steal Timothy's recipe and really go to town.

@anne
I will look for the pipestone...
The Mahoney Vineyards Vermentino...I'm glad to hear from you...Looking forward to the next meeting..at the Corner.
I am curious what did I say that made you use the phrase "flightless"
I'm not opposed to flights, but I think I can be convinced to abandon that for now..maybe in the future as we are so 1 day at a time...
cheers from Sadao

hey I had such a tasty meal at the wf last night! thanks so much.
and about your dedication to flightless wines...this place http://www.pipestonevineyards.com/ has a syrah and a mourvedre that I love love love love. I can be a bit sensitive to red wines (headaches) but these two are clean and they are so delicious. made by great nice folks.

thanks again for doing what you do and good luck with the corner.

There really is something about bringing a cart to the people. I've been doing quite a bit of research on it especially in the form of tacos but ice cream is a great idea too.

@Kelly,
I can't wait to see you when u come to sf..we are shooting for the 16th..fingers crosssed. Tell your bro to get his A down here too.
So since I'm no blogger, let me say that today I had every intention of going to an organic and biodynamic winery in sonoma. So I had to get a quick oil change and new winper blades as my car is now needing some love...so I dropped it off and went to see my friend Thadeus ant his cafe on Sutter st. between leavenworth and hyde..Thad's Cozy cafe. We hung out and talked for about an hour before I called the place and asked what's up. The guy calls me back saying I need shocks and a new O2 sensor and tires and 800 bucks..I say no way..oil and wiperblades cuz it was pouring down... I say give me a discount and the guy knocks of 30..so I got out of there for 75..
yeas...so I figure I 'll go to WF to say hi and I end up here all day and working on the corner...I just smelled my first sniff of wine..pinot noir from anderson valley. The Sharffenburger winery..it has a nice fruity nose and is full feeling on the mouth...Karim the fishmongerer is here in front of me taklking about CLEAN FISH.branding and brokerage of sustainable seafood.
they source and buy from all over the world NZ scotland, texas, virginia, what is your feeling about salmon...who is making the money, the community or the giant multi national...triple bottom line company...we only have good product and care the chain reaction...trust your inner fish...where else can you get a 9$ fish dish...no where but weird fish contracts with big companies allow more than 20% bad catch...Clean Fish is less than 5%...
organic feed is the key to the bigger picture..
anyway
we are having an open house for wine and food tomorrow..Beatrice is working with Manolo to show some of the menu

until next time...
sadao out...
